Assisted Living Rates Increase Nationally by 5%
February 4, 2011Base rates for assisted living communities increased by 5.2 percent nationally in 2010, according to an annual market survey released in Oct. 2010 by the MetLife Mature Market Institute. The monthly rate for a one-bedroom apartment or private room with private bath rose from $3,131 in 2009 to $3,293 in 2010, according to the survey. Arkansas reported the lowest average monthly rate ($2,073) while Washington, D.C., had the highest average rate ($5,231). The monthly base rate for a private room with private bath at Capital Manor's Residential Care Facility is $2,744. Read more
Capital Manor Board Member honored as a Distinguished Citizen
February 2, 2011Jim Monaghan, who serves on Capital Manor's Board of Directors, has been selected by the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce as a Distinguished Citizen. Each year, the Chamber holds a banquet honoring Salem's first citizen and three additional individuals are honored as distinguished citizens. Jim is recognized by his fellow community members as being a terrific father, grandfather, businessman, and community leader. Together with his wife Lorna, Jim continues to demonstrate his good citizenship by giving back to his community and making Salem a wonderful place to live. Congratulations to Jim!

Capital Manor opens secure Memory Care
July 1, 2010On July 1, 2010 Capital Manor received approval from Senior and People with Disabilities to offer services in a secure Memory Care setting. This endorsement from the state requires a facility to meet guidelines in addition to the operational rules for the existing facility level of care license. Read more...
